Program Information

Welcome

Thank you for participating in the Grole Mobility Analytics (GMA) Athlete Assessment Program.

GMA is a physician-supervised movement assessment program designed to collect objective information about an athlete's movement patterns, balance, strength, gait, and functional performance. The information collected may assist licensed healthcare providers in monitoring progress, evaluating recovery, and supporting clinical decision-making.

Participation in the program is voluntary.

What is GMA?

Grole Mobility Analytics combines objective movement assessment technologies with physician oversight to provide standardized measurements of athletic movement and performance.

Depending on the assessment performed, athletes may complete one or more of the following:

  • Computerized gait analysis

  • Balance assessment

  • Muscle strength testing

  • Jump and landing assessment

  • Functional movement testing

  • Athlete wellness questionnaires

These assessments are non-invasive and are designed to measure movement characteristics only.

Purpose of the Assessment

The purpose of the assessment is to provide objective movement information that may assist licensed healthcare professionals in:

  • Establishing a preseason movement baseline

  • Monitoring changes in movement over time

  • Supporting rehabilitation progress

  • Assisting return-to-sport evaluations

  • Identifying movement characteristics that may warrant further clinical evaluation

Assessment results are intended to supplement—not replace—a comprehensive clinical examination.

Physician Oversight

Assessment findings may be reviewed by licensed physicians participating in the GMA program.

Medical decisions, diagnoses, treatment recommendations, participation restrictions, and return-to-play determinations remain solely the responsibility of the supervising physician.

Grole Mobility Analytics does not independently diagnose injuries or medical conditions.

What to Expect

Most assessments take approximately 20–45 minutes.

Athletes should wear comfortable athletic clothing and appropriate athletic footwear unless instructed otherwise.

Testing may include walking, balance tasks, strength measurements, jumping, landing, and other functional movements.

Potential Risks

Movement assessments involve physical activity similar to participation in athletic training or physical education.

Although every reasonable precaution is taken to promote participant safety, potential risks include:

  • Muscle soreness

  • Fatigue

  • Temporary discomfort

  • Loss of balance

  • Minor strains or aggravation of an existing condition

Testing may be stopped at any time if the athlete experiences pain or if supervising personnel determine it is appropriate to discontinue testing.

Privacy and Confidentiality

Assessment information may include health-related information.

Grole Mobility Analytics takes reasonable measures to safeguard participant information and only shares information with authorized individuals involved in the athlete's care, including, where applicable:
